The opening smoke ceremony will be a special way to welcome the upcoming days of the event. The event will be officially kicked off, each successively by burning eucalyptus leaves and maintained for a consecutive 24 hours at each gate. The smoke will usher in a cleansing smoke to welcome Mopoke!
We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land and we show our respect for Elders past, present and emerging through thoughtful and collaborative approaches to our work, seeking to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to providing places in which Aboriginal people are included socially, culturally and economically.
MOPOKE Festival is a licensed area, no alcohol is to be brought from outside the premises. Glasses of alcohol served at the event are for on-site consumption only, and not to be taken outside of the premises. MOPOKE is a drug-free event and no drugs are permitted within the festival.
